CASE STUDY: UTILITY DETECTION AND TOPOGRAPHICAL SURVEY IN MEPPERSHALL
September 14, 2020
A housebuilding client required an accurate Underground Utility and Topographic survey of a site in Meppershall, Bedfordshire.
Whilst the primary area was a large development site for residential housing, the scope was extended to an adjacent country lane. In addition, the Rock Surveying team were required to deliver a witness report of the boundary features and include extra areas including sewers and highway drainage.
Multiple teams were deployed to complete the survey within the tight frame.
The team worked closely alongside other onsite contractors to prevent interruption of works.
By utilising our directly-employed Chapter 8 trained staff, the Rock Surveying team were able to achieve out-of-hours Traffic Management. This reduced the Local Council's response time and meant we could mobilise on site quicker.
Project Manager, Tony Onyeogo commented: “There was a huge increase in the scope just before mobilisation, with the delivery time frame remaining fixed. However, with efficient delivery, we succeeded with another satisfied client.”
