CASE STUDY: 50KW ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER ON THE ENGENIE NETWORK FOR THE KING BRYCHAN
May 22, 2020
A 50KW Electric Vehicle (EV) charger installed at The Brychan pub required a new connection from the local Low Voltage (LV) network.
Based on a large leisure park, the parking bays were adjacent to a Travelodge and the Rock Team needed to minimise disturbance to the hotel.
The Point of Connection provided by Western Power Distribution was in a congested footpath.
The Rock Team completed all the civil electrical works from the final closing joint to the installation of EV chargers.
To expedite the installation, the EV charger was installed first and the electrical connection works undertaken later to fit with the WPD’s availability. WPD attended for the final closing joint to facilitate the identification of the correct cable in the congested area.
Rock Power programmed the work to suit the off-site peak times for the Travelodge and to ensure no inconvenience for the local businesses and customers.
Dan Wooding, Project Manager commented: “Another great EV charger installation on the Engenie network.”
