ELECTRICAL CONNECTION TO THE NEW ALDI STORE IN RUABON, WREXHAM
March 16, 2020
A new ALDI store development required an electrical connection to supply the foodstore, a petrol station and a Costa Coffee.
A High Voltage (HV) point of connection was granted, requiring a 500KVA packaged substation and a substantial Low Voltage (LV) network to each of the units.
The Rock Team had to work closely with the Distribution Network Operator to coordinate their network reinforcement activity with the final energisation date.
The installation comprised of a 500KVA substation and the HV and LV infrastructure throughout the site. It was important to liaise with onsite contractors to ensure onsite excavations and substation plinth was constructed to the DNO and IDNO specification.
Each client had their unit energised on time to hit their individual store opening date.
Sayer Emrich, Rock’s Project Manager commented: “The main challenge on this site was ensuring each end client hit their own individual store opening dates and coordinating with multiple onsite contractors to achieve this. I am delighted to say all stores opened on time with no delays.”
