Electrical Connections Manager, Emma Chetwynd Jarvis, attempts to break car-pull World record
One of Rock Power Connections’ longest standing team members, Emma Chetwynd Jarvis, is planning to smash a world record by pulling a 1.5-ton vehicle around a circuit for a full 24 hours.
Taking place at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern, in early March, Emma, an Electrical Connections Manager for Rock Power Connections, will aim to break the Guinness World Record for the farthest distance in pulling a car over 24 hours, with the current target to beat at 21.08 Miles.
In attempting to break this record, Emma has been training six days per week for the last 10 months and is pledging any funds raised in support of St Richard’s Hospice in Worcester.
She confirmed: “It’s been pretty tough, especially when you are a working mum. But this is something I’ve wanted to do for a little while now. The endurance challenge will be the hardest part.”
“The Three Counties Showground team have been incredibly generous in allowing me to use their site. When they suggested raising funds for St Richard’s Hospice, it seemed the perfect match as it is a great cause”.
St Richard’s Hospice cares for adults with a serious progressive illness and is a charity that Rock Power Connections have supported for multiple years, recently raising funds through their annual Christmas Tree Collection initiative.
Jayne Sargeant, Fundraiser at St Richard’s, added: “We are so inspired by the challenge Emma has set herself – and wish her the very best of luck with her world record attempt. “
“We are very grateful she has chosen to support our care, as it is only thanks to the tireless generosity of our community that we can continue to be there for patients and their loved ones when they need us most.”
To show your support for Emma and St. Richard’s Hospice, you can donate £5 via her Just Giving Page and guess how far she will pull the 1.5-ton vehicle over the 24 hours period. The closest guess wins a prize.
