Rock Power Connections Shortlisted for Small Business of the Year
Rock Power Connections is delighted to announce it has been shortlisted for ‘Small Business of the Year’ in the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2019.
This announcement follows an exciting year for the company, now in its seventh year, which has continued to grow steadily to a team of 70.
As Finance Director, Matt explains “We’ve experienced growth in our core activity, but are also seeing diversity in our client base. We’ve installed increased volumes of electrical connections to new developments – especially apartment blocks and business parks – and have more expanding manufacturers coming to us for increased supplies. This is great news.
Then there are new opportunities arising. For example, the surge in Electric Vehicles (EV) means an increase in EV charging points and we are perfectly skilled to install the electrical infrastructure they require. We have some exciting projects underway.”
Growth has not been restricted to electrical connections. Rock Power Connections also work on the distribution network, building new primary substations and upgrading existing assets on behalf of the Distribution Network Operators. Operations Director, Reece stresses this growth is due to the diligence of the team.
“Team Rock work hard on site in all weathers; from the hottest of summer days to the harsh cold and dark of winter. Some of the work is really physical; some is really technical. We’ve built a reputation for excellence through the concerted efforts of the team - the quality they deliver and the flawless Health & Safety record.
In addition, we have a really high retention rate of 95%. It means we invest in training and then the experience and skills are retained in the company. On average, our engineers have 22 training accreditations – that must be one of the highest in the industry.”
Rock Power Connections has now completed over 400 projects, ranging from single connections to commercial building right through to large sites with multiple substations or hundreds of meter points.
What does the immediate future hold? Commercial Director, Kev summarises “We’ll continue with what we are good at; putting people at the heart of the business and building a reputation for excellence. When you have quality and passion underpinning your daily work, it is easy to deliver a solid outcome.”
