Established in 2007 in a small corner of London’s insurance district, Grazing Food has grown from a single café to one of London’s coolest caterers, bringing their uniquely fun and innovative approach to food and service to some of London’s most discerning companies.
As relentless champions of British and London produce, Grazing decided to lay down roots in the capital’s newest food quarter – Bermondsey. Building a new 5,000 square foot commercial kitchen within an industrial unit required an increased electrical supply …….FAST!!!
Using a local substation for a LV point of connection, we installed a 265kVA supply to both Grazing Food and neighbouring restaurant – Bone Daddies.
Occupying premises under the railway arches, the install required two 70m cable runs, attached at height to the arches.
As a final challenge, the installation needed to happen on London Marathon weekend, just a stone’s throw from the runners!
Project Manager, Rob Davies explains “the project required a proactive, motivated workforce as we had a short deadline to meet. By liaising closely with the client and UKPN we delivered the electrical supply on time.”
* A bespoke attachment to securely fix both cables to the archway.
* Weekend installation to minimise disruption to neighbouring businesses.
* A marathon effort from the Rock Team to get the cables pulled in and attached.
* Close communication with UKPN to ensure energisation happened on time.
With a dizzying array of operations in contract catering, business lunch deliveries and corporate and private event catering, Business Owner- Sam Hurst - had his attention focused on delivering the WOW factor to his customers. The Rock team stepped in to take the hassle away from securing his electrical connection.
Sam said “Unlike other contractors we spoke to, Rock Power Connections came at our project with a can-do attitude from the word go and when given a tight deadline, stepped up to the mark and delivered. We needed power in a hurry and thanks to a mammoth effort by the Rock Team, we got it.”
Rock Power Connections wish Sam and his team a flourishing future in their new premise.
