Rock Power Connections was delighted to recently welcome Worcester MP, Robin Walker, to its offices. After hearing about the Worcester-based, Independent Connections Provider winning the most promising new business award at this year's Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards, Mr Walker came to learn about the company’s further growth plans and its training commitment to its multi-skilled engineering team.
During the visit, the Rock Power Connections management team described the development of the company and its success over the last three years. Mr Walker learnt that Rock Power Connections is an owner-run company which has quickly developed a proven track record as a specialist in designing and installing new and upgraded electricity connections to business and industry. The award-wining company now employs nearly 30 local engineering and customer care professionals who deliver electrical connection and upgrade projects nationwide.
Finance Director, Matt Crampton said: “Mr Walker was very keen to hear about our dedication to training and development. We recently took on our first trainee as part of our commitment to the training and development of our team. He was also very interested in learning more about our plans to take on apprentices in the future. As a company, we are all excited about this development.”
Mr Walker said: "It is always exciting to see a local business that is growing, creating jobs and taking people on. When I heard about Rock Power Connections, I was immediately intrigued to find out what they do and my visit was fascinating. Electricity is more essential than ever in the modern world and it powers everything from heavy industry to high speed trains to the internet in our homes and businesses. The rise of renewable technologies and micro generation provides both challenges and opportunities for the electricity sector. The process of getting people connected has rarely been more important and these people have real expertise in doing it safely and economically.”
Mr Walker concluded: “I was interested to hear that they not only compete with the big utility companies in providing new connections for businesses, but actually do work on behalf of those utility and transmission companies themselves. It was great to hear how they put investing in their people at the forefront of the business and exciting to hear of yet another local business that is considering how best to take on apprentices. I look forward to seeing Rock Power Connections growing bigger in the years to come.”
