Rock Power Connections is powering up for the Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Most Promising Business’
Rock Power Connections, the Worcester-based electrical engineering company specialising in connections and upgrades, is celebrating today after being shortlisted for two Hereford & Worcester Chamber of Commerce Awards: Promising New Business and People Development.
Founded in 2013 by local electrical engineering specialist, Reece James, Rock Power Connections has enjoyed successful growth, employs nearly 30 local engineering and customer care professionals and delivers superior electrical connection projects nationwide.
The Promising Business Award shortlisting is in recognition of Rock Power’s consistent high-quality performance, its solid financial results and its promising platform for further growth as a leading Independent Connections Provider.
Rock Power Connections’ Operations Director, Reece James, said: “Rock Power Connections was founded on a commitment to quality engineering, design expertise and a dedication to excellence in customer care. Alongside my fellow directors, we formed the business after competition was introduced into the electricity connection market. We’re proud of our reputation of being a trusted Independent Connections Provider and delighted that we have been shortlisted for two awards. As an owner-run company, we’re passionate about our business and our continuous training culture which demonstrates our Rock solid commitment to our local multi-skilled team.”
The People Development Award nomination reflects Rock Power’s learning and development culture which is embedded within the company. From the directors through to electrical engineers, all employees have their own personalised skills development programme. Rock Power engineers are supported to pass rigorous safety examinations to ensure they are qualified to work on the dangerous high-voltage electricity grid. Engineers are then encouraged to further broaden their skills with additional industry training which supports the business. In addition, the progressive working-life policy for office based employees help the team to strike a meaningful work/life balance.
Reece continues: “What drives me personally is seeing the team develop. We have re-trained 15 domestic electricians used to working in homes to become high-voltage engineers now operating on the 132kV electricity network. This is a huge step-up and a tremendous achievement. I’m proud of the guys and all our team for their continuous skills development. It’s what makes Rock Power a great company to work for.”
The finalists will be named on the 10th June at the Hereford and Worcester Chamber of Commerce’s Awards Dinner. Until then, the team at Rock Power Connections all have their fingers crossed for double-success on the night.
