Written by

Friday, 28th April 2023, marked our annual team day at Sixways Stadium in Worcestershire, albeit, the first one in a few years due to the pandemic.

Rock is full steam ahead for 2023 and it’s important that as a growing team and business, we join together to learn, celebrate and collaborate to progress Rock’s future. #TeamRock

Our mission is to decarbonise built Britain, driving the expansion of EV charging and onsite power generation. We are here to support more business’ bringing high voltage power to the places it’s needed and to reach that goal, it’s vital that we all share the same vision of Rock, the future plans for growth and how we can work together to create this.

Our employees, are key to why Rock are where we are today. In the last 12 months, we’ve employed 39 people, in 10 years we’ve grown our headcount from 3 to 123 and we have no plans to slow down anytime soon.

Since its acquisition by the Mitie Group 18 months ago, Rock Power Connections has completed some of its biggest projects to date.

In the words’ of Kev Sankar, MD, of RPC –“Our greatest asset – is our people”.
“Rock is small, local and agile, but we also have a base at The Shard, we have the best of both worlds.”
Kev says. “We draw on the benefits of large corporate backing, but we’re still family focused, and our values and behaviours haven’t changed since the early days.”

“Having the right people and culture has always been key to our success. Rock would not be where it is today without them. In fact, our employee value proposition is fantastic in terms of benefits, packages, learning and development.

“Our focus continues to be on quality skills and training, and we believe that the Mitie brand – combined with our family friendly ethos – gives us that competitive edge. Which is why engagement days like these, are so important.”

  • The purpose of the day:
  • Meet new faces and old friends.
  • To better understand the business and our individual roles. As the team grows, so does the business and it’s vital that we all understand each other’s roles to progress and move forward.
  • To learn about exciting growth opportunities and how those opportunities dovetail into Mitie Plan Zero.
  • Whole team engagement.
  • Welcomed special guest speakers Stefan Szrama GCGI, QHSE Lead, Fleet & Procurement at Mitie & Ben Hanlin, TV Magician, Host, Content Creator, Co-Founder of Pull The Pin Digital Marketing Agency.

Without the organisation and the of SLT at Rock this day wouldn’t have been possible (Emma, Sophie, Richard J, James, David, Richard C), Kev and Matt for arranging this amazing day for the team.
