CASE STUDY - ROTOL SUBSTATION
Working on behalf of the DNO, Western Power Distribution, Rock Power Connections built a new substation in Gloucester to secure supplies to existing customers and provide additional capacity to meet the needs of new customers.
ROCK SOLID SOLUTION
Construct a new 33/11kV substation adjacent to the existing site. The new site consists of a new switch room containing 33kV and 11kV switch gear and a control room. Rock Power Connections also acted as the Principal Contractor. In addition, Rock Power engineers also delivered:
Two new 33/11kV (20/40MVA) transformers and all plant/apparatus and ancillary equipment.
New wiring of relay panels, RTU panels, 33kV & 11kV transformer tails and 33kV & 11kV cable jointing.
"Rotol 33/11kV substation supplies nearly 11,000 residential and industrial customers in rural north Gloucester. It delivers power to key industrial sites including the aerospace factories on the Ashville Business Park, the Bamfurlong and Staverton Industrial Parks in Gloucester and Gloucester Airport. At Rock Power Connections, we understood the complexity of the engineering challenge and were able to deliver the project safely, on time and on budget."
