Case study

Moto Rugby

Vinci built a new service station off Junction 1 of the M6, a site that required a 2500KVA supply to feed 12 new EV charging points. The Rock Team were tasked with the installation of a HV switching station, 2 x 1250KVA package substations and 12 x 350kw Tritium EV chargers.

Our Solution

  • Due to a long lead time on deliveries from abroad, a quick and efficient installation was crucial to meet the clients deadlines.
  • The Project was broken down into two phases, each consisting of 1 x 1250KVA package sub station and 6 x 350Kw EV chargers, the second of which commenced just two weeks before opening.
  • Once the installation was complete, the pre-commissioning could begin, all cables were tested prior to energisation.
  • Tritium Engineers attended site to commission and programme the installation to suit the clients needs.
  • The Installation was a success, and ready for use by the public on opening day.

“It is great to see that huge progress has been made following the energisation and both RPC & Tritium have come our way in order to bring quite a few activities forward to ensure project completion on time, despite a few hurdles.”
